Bridal Shower Games for Large Groups
Finding games for your cousin's bridal shower seems an impossible task. Finding bridal shower games for large groups of people to play at your cousin's bridal shower is downright inconceivable! Well, you're in luck. Here is a list of great bridal shower games specifically geared towards large groups.
Thank You Card Fill-Out
First find out if there will be some sort of a theme or color scheme for the party. If so, go to a party goods store, and buy some large bags with handles to match the theme. Get enough to place one bag on each table. Then buy some pretty thank you cards (really even the standard white envelopes will do), and scatter them, along with some pens, on the tables. Have each guest write her name and address on the envelopes, and place them all in the bag. Tell someone to collect the bags from each table, and bring them to the bride. Let her pick an envelope from each one, and give a prize to the drawn name. This is nice because each table has a winner, and it helps the happy couple when it comes time to send out their thank you cards!
Don't Say It!
Another fun set of bridal shower games for large groups is the getting to know you type games. This game has many variations, but they all work the same way. As each guest arrives, hand her a clothespin or a bell on a string, or a ribbon, or any other small ornament. Give her the following two instructions. One, attach the item to your clothing or person (depending on what it is). Two, do not, under any circumstances say the word ____ (fill in the blank with a common word of the evening like 'bride' or 'wedding'). If someone says the chosen word, they forfeit their ribbon (or bell etc.) to the person with whom they are speaking. You'd be surprised at the clever and sneaky ways people will attempt to rid you of your object! The person with the most items at the end of the night gets a prize.
Video Messages
I'm not sure this would fit into the category of bridal shower games for large groups, but it is a great idea for a bridal shower, and certainly works best with more people. In a separate room from the actual party (you can use a coatroom, a hallway, or even a bathroom, if you are desperate!), set up a video camera on a tri-pod. Place a chair in front of the camera, and leave the record button next to it. As each guest arrives, have her sit in the chair and say a few words to the bride and groom. This could be happy wishes, sound advice for a peaceful marriage, a humorous anecdote worth sharing, even a simple congratulations will do. The finished video makes for a beautiful wedding present that the couple is sure to cherish.
Here are a few more cute bridal shower games for large groups.
Guess Her Age
Have a poster board with pictures of the bride from all different stages and ages of her life (that's right, break out those puffy-haired, eccentric outfitted days pictures- the more bizarre, the better!) Leave paper and pencil next to the poster board. Have guests take a guess at how old the bride is in each picture. The person who has the most correct guesses wins a prize.
Bingo
Bingo is always a fun and easy game to play with a lot of people. You'll have to spice it up a bit, of course. Instead of numbers for people to tick off, print up bingo cards with presents or guests' names, or even fun facts (like the year the bride was born, the town she lives in, or her favorite ice cream flavor) in each space. First person to get bingo wins!
Flying Wishes
I'd like to share one finally game that I found both touching and extremely moving. This game is called flying wishes. Have each person write a heart-felt piece of advice or blessing to the bride. Fold each note, and place it into a balloon (you can make them mushy red hearts or classy silver, or, to add a splash of fun to the sentiment, use all different colors). Fill the balloons with helium, and have each guest take her balloon outside. It is quite a moving sight to see fifty or sixty balloons, filled with love and care, slowly drift high and away into the distance. If done properly, this game usually triggers more than one eye dab.
So now that you've got some ideas, you can probably host a pretty great bridal shower. If you have the luxury, delegate some of the jobs so it doesn't all fall on your head. Even if you're doing this thing solo, though, these games don't require too much preparation time. The main thing is that everyone has a good time, and with these bridal shower games for large groups, that's sure to be the case!
