Online Games For Preschoolers

The summer is upon us, and, like many parents, you may begin to feel the headache, the congestion, the hot and cold sweat running down your back. No, I'm not talking about allergies. I'm referring to your kids' summer vacation. That's right, they're home, all day, everyday for the entire summer. And the biggest question is always what are we going to do with them?! Well here's an easy solution for the little ones in the family; play online games for preschoolers. Filled with colorful sights, fun shapes, lively music, and entertaining characters, these games will also teach your children important skills and lessons. Below I've listed several excellent sites jam packed with tons of online games for preschoolers, and even some for older kids. Before your first slew of aches and pains begins, enjoy the ease and reliability of these wonderful online games for preschoolers.

Fisher Price:

You buy their toys, now play their online games for preschoolers. These games are age appropriate and loaded with fun things for your child to do. For the little artist, there are coloring pages filled with dinosaurs, animals, trucks, rescue heroes, and more. Put together small puzzles to form fun pictures! Fisher Price has matching games, memory and find what's different games, scratchboard, dot to dot, Tetris, Crazy Daisy, Pong, this list goes on and on. Go on a fun treasure hunt on some hot wheels for the boys, and, for the girls, try the salon make-over game. If you like the old favorites, play Tic Tac Toe. Or try something totally new in the Rescue Heroes Missions games. Once you start on this site, you will have hours of constant fun and learning in store.

Noggin:

This is one of the most impressive sites I've found with great online games for preschoolers. Noggin has one of the largest varieties of games and activities to choose from. Play games with Oobi and Zee or enjoy some games from 64 Zoo Lane. All your friends are here. Join your favorite Noggin characters in lots of exciting and colorful educational games. Puzzles, matching, connect the dots galore. Write your own children's story, or compose a song. Play the Great Big Fancy Word Game with Pinky and Tyler and learn lots of…well, great big fancy words! Miffy and friends can help your child build important mathematical skills such as counting and number comparison. Maisy can teach you all about the ABC's. All the games on Noggin use skill development techniques to help your child in many areas like vocabulary expansion, association, and pattern recognition too. (Note: I've discussed some of the many Noggin games available. There are several links on Noggin that will redirect you to NickJr. Com which has it's own plethora of fun and educational games as well.)

Seusville:

Celebrate some…interesting holidays with your favorite childhood author, Dr. Seuss.

Diffendoofer Day with the Diffendoofers, and Earth Day with the Loraxs should both be on your calendar. Play The Cat's Memory game level one for beginner level matching tiles, or level two for a fun twist that is more than a little tricky! Another fun memory game is the Sneetches Star Game. Try to keep track of the starred and unstarred sneetches that disappear into your machine. Can you remember where Horton's trunk is after the lights have gone out? Try to locate it in Horton's Who Hunt. Practice your aim as you balance on the back of an elephant on roller skates when you play Elephant Ball. The educational value of these games is some-what questionable, but your children will love having fun with their beloved Seussian characters!

Nick Jr.com:

Though Nick Jr.com has an unappealing tendency to be slow running, the abundance of familiar and adorable characters ought to make up for it (at least to your kids!) 'Play to learn' is the motto here, and that's just what your kids will do. Let Dora teach you a new language as you go sailing down the rapids, visit a carnival, or just take a stroll in the park. Play hide and seek with Curious Buddies, some of the cutest puppets ever made! Help Wonder Pets save animals in trouble. Build robots, dress up dolls, race around with the Backyardigans, play ring toss with Wubzy, dress up with the pretty Holly Hobbie, trek through the rain forest with Diego, or play the Lazy Town Challenge for a fun online board game. Join all your friends from Blue's Clues, Mighty Bug Five, Spinner the Space Kid and so many more!

Billy Bear:

This is another delightful site with online games for preschoolers. The games are amusing and age appropriately challenging. These games allow children to practice and exercise integral skills while keeping them entertained. On this site, you will find 100's of puzzles varying in types and levels, Sokoban (a lovely strategy game for children in which they must move blocks onto their bases in as few moves as possible), tons of coloring pages and printable cut-out paper dolls, and hang man (a gentle version). In Odd One Out, children must find the one item that is dissimilar to the others. This is an excellent shape recognition game. Falling Stars is a fun space adventure in which kids have to shoot the approaching stars, practicing target aim/hand eye coordination. Catch the Frog is a great game for children to learn maneuvering skills, and simple cause and effect.

Billy Bear Solitaire takes an extremely complex brainteaser game, and brings it down to a young child's level. This is an excellent strategy game in which children must plan and plot their moves for the entire game. It requires them to use cognitive, as well as projective thinking, skills. Siji is a similar game in concept, and certainly worth the time and patience spent mastering. Billy Bear includes a whole foray of ABC games on different levels, including letter recognition, letter to sound association, and word completion. Ice Box features a friendly penguin on a mission to collect gold coins. Though a bit graphic when the penguin meets his end, this game is a good challenge for children in dexterity and maneuvering. This site is certain to keep your kids entertained the whole day through.

This summer you can sit back and stop worrying about the next few months (put away the Excedrin and the Dayquil!). Online games for preschoolers will keep your kids busy all day, and, what's even better, they'll be learning at the same time. I know the question that's floating in your mind. My kids will be learning and keeping busy with good clean fun? Where do I sign up?! Don't let another boring day go by, try them out today!
